TwitchFilm.com Stanley Film Festival 2015 Interview
Jonathan Milott and Cary Murnion have gone from sentient boobs to creating a good horror comedy to zombie children. Next, they'll terrorize Jane Levy on set this summer in Brooklyn in a neo-Civil War. On behalf of TwitchFilm, I spoke to them about all this, and how much fun it is to kill kids onscreen. And no, I didn't prod them to talk about Todd Brown or XYZ Films, but it's clear that they're fans.
Lionsgate will release Cooties on September 18 as a limited release in theaters and on VOD.
Dread Central SFF Cooties interview
You won’t catch Cooties (review) until September 18, but horror fans here at the Stanley Film Festival in Estes Park, Colorado, were fortunate enough get a sneak peek opening night to see just how darkly funny Leigh Whannell’s (Saw, Insidious) script is and how many kids actually die in horrifically entertaining ways.
Coming off their buzzed about short film, Boob, the directing team of Cary Murnion and Jonathan Milott sat down with us in the Library Room just down from the infamous Stanley Hotel. Cooties and their next project both sound like ones to definitely keep an eye out for.

Stanley Film Festival 2015: COOTIES Kicks the Fest Into Gear
Stanley Film Festival 2015: COOTIES Kicks the Fest Into Gear
This is the kind of film that throws as many jokes out as it possibly can without crossing the line into slapstick, and it manages to effectively land around 90% of them, which is an abnormally high success rate.
Cooties also has a good amount of bite to balance out the laughs (which aren’t all that saccharine to begin with). The movie is happily gory bloodbath. No body part is spared, no child’s demise considered off limit. It’s a hilarious cry of fearful rage against a youth none of us can ever hope to understand after a certain age… and I hope it spreads.
